Guest users - with permission level 'Edit'

We'd like to be able to give a guest user 'Edit' permission capabilities.
While we still don't have Cohero docs - and the uploading and downloading of Microsoft docs is needed to mark-up/make changes (unless really basic) the guest user functionality is kind of limited to PDF's only.
Aegon have a high number of word docs (letters and system outputs) and presentations - and to be able to get full advantage of guest user functionality, we need to be able to select 'Edit' as their permission level.

This capability (to edit files and upload iterations to Cohero) is preserved for those with Edit permissions. Users with Edit permissions are considered a regular (even indispensable) part of the creation process. It is not the type of role that the Guest user role was designed for.

In order for my undestanding - what is it that you want Guest users to do, exactly?
With their current View/Comment permissions, Guests are able to See, leave Comments (or provide change requests), Download the asset, its info and attachments, approve assets. All of this is regardless of the file format the original asset is in (as long as the canvas supports it).
With that capability in hand, I'd like to understand what more you need Guests to do in Cohero, that they can't do already?

Bram Timmers we'd like them to be able to upload a document.
In the case of Microsoft docs rather than marking up a request - and then someone else having to make them, which is fine if it's maybe one or two comments, the user should be able to either use the mark-up functionality -so the asset owner just needs to 'accept' if they agree with the change. Or be able to just make the amends.
For example marking up in a presentation - make this pink, align these bullets, make this lowercase - it's just as easy to make the amend. And uploaded the new iteration.

Melanie Williams:
Thank you - I understand it better now.
Enabling members to be changing the assets, and uploading new iterations, exceeds the permissions of guests. It's something regular members can do with Edit permissions (at minimum).
Guests (as a role) were designed for organisations who want to keep a reasonable level of protection up, in involving guests in the creation/review/approval process. Guests can be involved to review, provide input/comments, or to approve assets. They can not be involved in truly editing content

Bram Timmers - thank you.
The ask here is for you and your team to consider widening out the level of access a guest member can have. And giving the choice to the us.
In cases where WE want to keep protection - we will only give the user view or Comment level permission. However, we'd like to be able to give 'Edit' access, where we choose it to be within OUR risk controls.
As mentioned above this is really important for Microsoft documents. Which unfortunately, for many of the docs we'd like to utilise guest access for - are Microsoft documents. And reviewing using only mark-ups on the canvas - means additional recourse, which is why we'd like to add this for future consideration to the development board.
